Living Room Millwork + Styling

This Port Coquitlam condo was refreshed to modernize a living space that had not been updated in over 15 years. The project focused on new furnishings, improved lighting, integrated storage, and reimagining an oversized electric fireplace surround that disrupted the flow of the room.

The existing fireplace divided the space visually and left under utilized floor area on either side. It was replaced with a wall-to-wall custom millwork installation that elongates the room and creates a more unified focal point. The new design integrates the fireplace, television, open shelving, and closed storage within a unified composition.

Built-in cabinetry maximizes functionality while reducing visual clutter. Open shelving flanking the television provides curated display space for personal objects, while concealed storage maintains a streamlined appearance. An expanded mantle offers an additional serving station for entertaining.

Lighting was upgraded to improve both ambiance and usability, contributing to a brighter and more inviting environment.

The result is a functional living room that supports daily routines and social gatherings while offering integrated storage and refined architectural presence.
